About us
Youth Agency for the Advocacy of Roma Culture “ARCA” is a Roma youth non-governmental organization that has been working in the public sector of Ukraine since 2018, focusing its efforts on the development of the Roma youth movement, support and preservation of Roma history and culture, as well as building intercultural dialogue in Ukraine.
Our mission is to promote a positive image of Roma communities in Ukrainian society through education, media, history and culture.
Strategic goals:
- development and support of the Roma youth movement in Ukraine and internationally;
- establishment of intercultural dialogue and the fight against antigypsyism and all its manifestations - existing stereotypes, prejudices and hate speech;
- preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the Roma in Ukraine;
- lobbying the interests of the Roma communities at the local, national and international levels.

«Голоси, які мають імена» повинні запобігти геноцидам в майбутньому — творці вистави
Зафільмована документальна вистава «Голоси, які мають імена» – поєднує розповідь про геноцид ромів в Україні під час Другої світової війни та сучасний досвід ромських громад у реаліях повномасштабної війни Росії проти України. Вистава дає можливість побачити, як етнічні переслідування та упередження залишають слід в особистих долях та в житті цілої громади. Режисерка Наталія Вайнілович розповіла журналістці Українського Радіо Світлані Мялик, що в оригіналі створювалася звичайна документальна вистава, яку актори грали на сцені. Перші покази були наживо.
60% of the total Roma population were killed during World War II – NGO “ARCA”
The total number of roma exterminated ranges from 500,000 to one and a half million. While in Western Europe records of the exterminated roma were still kept, as it took place in concentration camps, in Eastern Europe there were chaotic mass killings — roma were murdered wherever they were found. This was stated on Ukrainian Radio by Volodymyr Yakovenko, Director of the Youth Agency for the Advocacy of Roma Culture “ARCA.”
